Marion Jonsson passed away on Thursday April 30, 2015 in the Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center at Northwest Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene T Jonsson, who died in 2013. They were married for over 60 years and she missed him greatly. She is survived by their two children, David Jonsson of South Elgin, IL and Susan Martin of Lone Jack MO, her grandchildren Kyle Jonsson, Jenny Jonsson, and Gloria Owens, her son-in-law Jim Martin and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Leroy and Marge Jonsson of Hot Springs Village, AR.
Marion loved to travel. She and her family went on camping trips to St. Germain Wisconsin during the summers when her two children were younger. Her sister, Elaine’s (deceased) family also went on the trips with their two children, Vickie and Christopher. The family went fishing, shopping, and enjoyed meals together and talking and singing around the camp fire. They took many other family vacations as well. After the kids were grown, Marion and Gene traveled to Greece, Italy, Alaska, New Zeland and Hawaii.
Marion was a lifelong Cubs fan, loved her bridge group, was a member at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights and had many friends. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 1:30 pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. The church address is 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights.
